Put 52 cards (52 kinds) into the deck. Shuffle the deck. Deal 13 cards from the deck to each player's hand.

Deck: a pile, shared, hidden from everyone (only the count shows). Hand: a pile, each player has their own, visible only to its owner. Trick: a pile, shared, face up for everyone. Won: a spread, each player has their own, face up for everyone.

Play card — choose a card from your hand; uses your own hand. • If it is not true that the number of cards in the trick where always matches 4 and the number of cards in the trick where always matches 0 or the suit of the chosen card matches the suit of the first card played to the trick or the number of cards in the chosen my hand where the suit of that card matches the suit of the first card played to the trick matches 0: mark played by on the chosen card as you; move the chosen card from the chosen my hand to the trick; play passes to the next player. Resolve trick — available when its conditions hold. • If the number of cards in the trick where always matches 4: play passes to the player who won the trick; move every card in the trick where always to the player who won the trick's won. Score hand — uses your own hand. • If the number of cards in the chosen my hand where always matches 0 and the number of cards in the trick where always matches 0: each player scores the total points of their won; the round moves to the deal phase. Start next hand — available when its conditions hold. • gather every card, shuffle, and deal 13 new hand to each player; the round moves to the play phase.

Play continues until someone's score reaches 100; then the player with the fewest points wins (a tie for fewest is a draw).
